NextReads Newsletters and Summer Reading at Your Library

With summer vacation quickly approaching, many libraries are beginning to promote their summer reading programs to their communities. NextReads newsletters can help you get the word out in a few ways:

1. Create a special summer reading newsletter: 

Include book lists, events, and author information, along with links to related programs and websites outside your library.

For directions on creating a new Newsletter List, click the Help link on the right-hand side of the green bar in the NextReads console. Then, from the “Customizing Newsletters” section of the Table of Contents, click the Newsletter Lists link for illustrated instructions.

2. Include information about your summer reading program in other NextReads-created newsletters: 

Get the word out to all of your library’s NextReads subscribers by adding a note to the top of all NextReads newsletters.

1.    From the green “Add New” bar at the top of the newsletter, click Section Header. This will add a blank section to the bottom of your newsletter, where you can include program details.

2.    Move the section to the top of your newsletter using the arrows above and to the right of the section. Or just click and drag the gray bar above the section.

3. Send a special mailing to subscribers of relevant newsletters:

For example, send an email about your kids’ program to subscribers of the Tween Reads or Picture Books newsletters. If your library selected a Mystery for your adult program, you might want to send an announcement to subscribers of your Mystery newsletter.

4. Display summer reading information from the newsletters directly on your library’s website:

The Create Web Content feature allows you to display the contents or full text of a single newsletter on your library’s website.
