Go ahead, take the credit!

Have you created something in LibraryAware that you’re particularly proud of, or something that was really effective? Maybe you created a campaign promoting your programs and services or got more readers engaged. It’s time for you and your library to get recognized!

Last year’s winners include San Mateo County Libraries who used LibraryAware to support their rebranding effort and Durham County Library for its Graphic Novels and Comics newsletter. Make this YOUR year to win. Good luck!

John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Awards: The most prestigious award of the American Library Association; comes with a $10,000 prize. Entry deadline: March 16. You can access John Cotton Dana Preparation documents here and here

PR Xchange Awards Competition: Recognizes the very best public relations materials produced by libraries in the past year. Winners are showcased at the American Library Association’s annual conference in June. Entry deadline: March 20.

Library Marketer of the Year: Library Journal honors one library staffer or a library team and awards a $2,000 prize. Entry deadline: August 7.

IFLA BibLibre International Library Marketing Award: Honors creative, results-oriented marketing projects or campaigns. Top two winners are sent to the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress at no cost and receive cash awards to support marketing efforts. (This competition is now closed; mark your calendars to enter in January 2019 for your 2018 projects.)

Other award contests: Many local and regional library associations and consortia recognize excellence in marketing, communications and public relations. And don’t forget about public relations, communications, and marketing organizations. Check out their award lists, too. Many have a non-profit awards category and reduced entry fees (if any) for non-profits.

If you know of any others I missed, tell me about them
