New Version of NoveList Select Released

Posted February 5, 2013

NoveList released a new version of NoveList Select with a major new feature – libraries are now able to offer recommendations for e-resources inside their catalog.

Promote Your E-Resources

Many libraries struggle with finding the best way to let patrons know about the wealth of e-resources available at the library. Now libraries can point to recommended e-resources from inside the library catalog. The recommendations are based on each catalog record, so patrons see a list of highly relevant e-resources, directly related to their interest.

Promote e-resources in your library catalogFor example, a patron searching for the title Steve Jobs (which is a biography of Steve Jobs, former Apple CEO) might see a link to biographical databases such as Biography in Context or Biography Reference Center. Another recommendation for the same title might be for an e-resource such as Computer Database, which covers the computer industry.

This new feature is vendor neutral so libraries can promote a wide variety of e-resources, including those purchased from other sources. See the current list of available e-resources. Customers should contact NoveList to select e-resources (see instructions below). The list of available e-resources will grow based on feedback from customers, and eventually customers will be able to manage their own list.

How to Enable the E-Resources Feature

Since this feature is individualized to each library, current customers should contact NoveList to set up their e-resource section. Send an email to to begin the process. Please put “NoveList Select E-Resource Setup [Library Name]” as the subject line of the email.
